In medieval days, thick hide leather armour was additionally worn by warriors to complement their chainmaille and steel armor. Also, many SCA and LARP veterans still prefer leather body armor rather than steel armor for ease of movement, conformance to body shape and easy maintenance.

Our historical bracers are the perfect defense and support for a warrior’s arm. They allow superior freedom of movement while giving great protection to the forearm.
These sleek looking bracers, made from top grain leather, can enhance the looks of any medieval ensemble but are capable of real combat too.
Designed exclusively for the left and right arm, the bracers can be tied with a string that passes through studs, riveted on the border of the bracers. Our standard size bracers fit almost all.

Our leather brigantine, inspired from the famous WISBY armour, is made from thick leather. Plates of solid steel have been joined with rivets to the leather to construct this piece of armour. This light and comfortable coat of plates is great for renaissance fairs or costume parties.

During XIII century new threats appeared and armour had to adapt itself. Chainmail alone was no longer able to resist powerful crossbow bold, arrows shot from the big English longbow or the new pole arms that were more and more used by communal militias, so armour soon invent new forms of rigid protections : “The Coat of Plate”.
This was made from numerous iron or steel plate riveted inside a canvas or leather jacket. Numerous designs were used during XIV century, depending of geographical area, craft of the smith and personal preferences.
Nowadays, this kind of protection is widely used in battle re-enactment and competition because of its simple, practical and sturdy design. Usually worn over the gambeson and under the coat of arms our XIV century “battle ready” coat of plate will offer you quite good protection while allowing you lot more mobility than any other body armour.

Scale armour is an early form of armour sometimes erroneously called scale mail consisting of many individual small armour scales (plates) attached to each other in overlapping rows. Scale armour was worn by warriors of many different cultures as well as their horses.
