Shields
Shields were the most extensively utilized form of defensive weapons in the world. Principally used as protection against missiles and as weapons with which to actively parry blows, bearers wielded shields just as effectively to launch offensive attacks, carry magico-religious protective medicines and create visual noise to confuse or frighten the enemies.
Today, shields have been recognized as impressive examples of a culture's artistry and ingenuity. People have great interest in our shields as they are widely used in the re-enactment, LARP events, movies and games based on the historic events. They are also being used as a piece of art for decorating homes.
A variety of sturdy materials are utilized, singly or in combination, for the manufacture of our shields: leather, softwood, medium density wood, hardwood, cloth and plain or embossed metal. |
